Wow, Q1 flew by! Remember the dollar rollercoaster that caused prices of groceries to skyrocket (and never really came back down)? Or the endless string of weddings that had social media buzzing? And who could forget the epic battle for the top spots in the EPL table? Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool have kept us on the edge of our seats! We also saw the heartbreaking loss of some Nollywood legends, and that unforgettable moment at the Omah Lay concert... oof. Let's just say, Q1 wasn't short on headlines.

THE BIG 2!
March was our birthday month, and we celebrated two incredible years of helping you pay and receive money globally with ease and affordability. Looking back at our journey – from HR and Finance management to a global payments platform, it was amazing to see how much we've grown in just two years, expanding to over 50 countries and helping hundreds of thousands of people like you pay and get paid.
To celebrate, we gave away 10 Starlink boxes and more than 60 merch and swag bags to our long-time users to say thank you.
RAENEST AT ATS
We touched down Kenya earlier in February for the 2024 Africa Tech Summit Nairobi. Our parent company, Raenest, was the headline sponsor. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting our users in Kenya and our founders shared their expertise on unlocking global opportunities for freelancers and professionals, and how businesses can enjoy seamless cross-border transactions. If you missed our Geegpay Diaries, then you're in for a treat. Geegpay Diaries is a series where we chat with the freelancers in our community and share their inspiring stories. We recently shared the 4th episode, where we featured a long-time user, Isabella Avwunufe, who's a virtual assistant. GEEGPAY CREATOR CHALLENGE
When we say we love our community members, we mean it. That's why we always find a way to show our support. In light of this, we kicked off a social media challenge for creatives. We started with a UI design challenge for front-end designers in January and a short story challenge for writers later in February. We awarded $1000 to the winners of the first challenge and $800 to the winners of the second challenge, and it was so inspiring to see your creativity. We have another challenge coming up so keep your eyes glued to our social media.

It looked like it rained freebies in Geegpay all through the first quarter because we removed all deposit fees from Upwork for the entire month of March, and you guys took full advantage.
CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
March is International Women's Month, and we celebrated the incredible women who are defying odds and achieving great things. We also chatted with some inspiring female leaders at Raenest and wrote a piece about their journeys.
